Remains Of Innocence Low Price CD: A Brady Novel Of Suspense (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
#16 in the Joanna Brady series.Started off a bit slow but eventually got going and the had same flare as the others.Junior is found dead and at first everyone is wondering if its suicide or murder. In the other story, a woman finds thousands of dollars hidden in her mothers cookbooks after she is put in the hospital and eventually dies. The woman grew up with nothing and her mother never had any money so it was a big surprise to find it after all these years. Sheriff Joanna Brady is very likable and very human. In the tightly knit town of Brisbee Arizona a disabled man disappears ang th townspeople turn out to search for him. Back East in Massachusetts, a hard working waitress tends to a funeral for her mother, who has lived like a "rat-packing" miser, depriving Liza of even the bare necessities of life. Liza finds thousands of $100 bills secreted away in books and other hide-holes as she rehabs the house for sale. A stranger at the funeral warns her of the possible involvement of her father with the mob. Liza, with help from friends escapes via a journey sith friendly truckers (a group helping abused women to relocate) for Bisbee, Arizona where she believes she can get help from her estranged brother. The plot thickens with events on both geographical ends of this story to show the uncanny ability of Joanna to put things together.
