This entire play feels like a study in slowly building tension. Like watching paint dry except the paint is made of nitroglycerin and the off-shade of ochre represents (respectively) the irrepressible dichotomy of white/black, master/servant, colonizer/savage, and carpetbagger/milkmaid. And the tension keeps building and building until you're absolutely positive they're about to knife each other.But then the two characters end the play making goat puns.
