He wasn’t pleased the human wanted to go home so readily, but after his discussion with Paul, he knew he had to bend to get what he wanted. But if he bent too much, he could easily break. After waiting for his mate for such a long time, letting go of his chance at happiness was shattering him. Remy didn’t understand the werewolf way, nor did he know how huge of an event it was for an alpha to release his beta. Paul understood. Hank kept seeing his brother’s worried stare in the rear view mirror, as if Paul thought Hank would rebel all at once and go wild. The thought had crossed Hank’s mind once or twice, the need to pull his mate close and never let go screaming in his veins. For now, he would content himself at sitting beside the male and hope he could walk away. As Paul turned onto Remy’s street, Hank saw a ton of police cruisers ahead.
