Restoring Jordan (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

Well, its good and all in all, I liked it. There were just some area I found slightly unsatisfactory. Firstly, the hero wanted to do something but holds back and do something else. He was unfortunately portrait as coward. His reactions often were something a male teenager will reacts not a 40-something man.He would have been an good Alpha male model if he would just follow his basic instinct. BUT, I love the heroine. Shy and inexperience with regards to sex but trying really hard to look confident. The steamy scenes were like that, steamy. Hot. I'm so unhappy about this book. From the reviews and high ratings, I was expecting an amazing book, and maybe this was to some people, but it did not do it for me at all. I couldn't even finish it, and believe me, this is rare. I almost always finish a book, no matter how bad it is, but with this one I was literally staring at my fingers in boredom. There WAY WAY WAY too much narrative. There's barely any dialogue, time moves weird (like weeks gone in a paragraph and minutes stretched for pages), and the characters were highly unrealistic and irritating. Adeline seems to be in a perpetual state of nervous. Nervous at work, nervous with her parents, nervous when she's near Jordan, nervous when she's having sex. It seems her only act of rebellion is to think "That bitch!" at Vera a lot. Also, how can Vera hate her five seconds after she meets her. For someone who works such a high-profile job, she certainly has horrible people skills, since she was looking at Adeline with hatred pretty much every time they met. And Jordan, I do not understand that fellow. What is it about Adeline that's so fixating? The damsel in distress complex? Her body? I didn't get his obsession with her, and it bothered me how he was ready to have babies with her and have a family and love and rainbows. Really, the dude was mushier than Adeline was, which was kind of a turn-off. The sex was okay, but it lacked chemistry and it didn't mean much to me since the characters bugged me. And Mark, why was he so upset just because she politely said no to dinner? I mean honestly, it's such an unprofessional reaction, you'd think she posted nude pictures of him online or something. I could go on for a while. I couldn't get into this book at all, and now I am left annoyed.
