Gizmo, Sprinkles and Wild love to build things, and of course they have a friend, Rex, who loves to wreck it all. Author-illustrator Ben Clanton does a beautiful job of showing positive strategies for overcoming challenges in friendship. The illustrations do a great job of conveying the characters’ feelings and the mixed print styles and sizes help to add to the energy of the story. This book would be great for students who are trying to learn strategies for working with others and a fun read aloud. This book was provided to SWON Libraries by the publisher for review. I won this through the GoodReads Giveaway. My 2 year old is now asking for this to be read to him every night. The cartoonish illustrations are a hit and the character emotions come through well. He enjoys the idea of destroying things, which is a plus, but the way it is presented in the book is fun for young kids. He is excited about the dinosaur main character and enjoyed the robot as well. Fun book for little kids learning about how to take turns and recognize emotions in others.
What do You think about Rex Wrecks It! (2014)?
It is as much fun to build as it is to topple...glad they made it work. Cuties all of 'em.

Cute. I love anything with Tyrannosaurus Rex in it, and this was fun.
