So this book more than lived up to its predecessor. We don't see much of Lily or Mac, there's mention of them but not much of it. I think it said they were fiancés? Anyway, in this book we get to focus on Diaz and Jessie. We all met Jessie in the first book and I thought she was awesome! Especially the way the author created her, full of spunk and attitude, with just a hint of sass. A good girl friend for Lily to hang out with. Because she was 15 when she joined the riders all of the guys think of her as a little sister. But, Diaz sees her as something more which he, like the typical guy, thinks is wrong and shouldn't happen. Luckily, Jessie knows exactly what she wants and goes for it. And I thought you go girl!OF course, the book centers around illegal firearms dealings, adding the right amount of danger. And I was right about who I thought it was, anyone else?There is a moment where they have to have public sex, which I didn't think I would like. I've read books where they did that and I didn't like the fact that it made it seem....idk dirty. I know, stupid right? BUT Jaci Burton did this scene (an initiation to a biker group, which is talked about a lot in the book) SO WELL that I didn't feel that way. She made it seem secluded, while also describing what other people were doing. IT didn't sound like a circle of people watching and jeering at two people have sex. There was no sharing of the main characters which I liked a lot.We also see some of Jessies pick-pocketing skills!Recommended! Well, this is the first book that I just didn't finish...it was hard enough to get through the first quarter, but after reading about the biker gang 'hedonistic pleasure circle' I was like "Yeah...that's it." Seriously NOT my thing, public sex? Blech. It's weird, I've read a lot of smutty (no other word for it!) romance novels, but an all out free-for-all is just gross to me. (Gross, heh, I sound like a prepubescent teenager!) I love the idea of bikers but I just couldn't really get into it, unfortunately.Maybe I'll try another Jaci Burton novel to give it another shot, but right now, I gotta get rid of the skanky flavor of what I just read. :P
