Chelsea Fine knows how to write a story that’s equal parts steam and adult situations AND the innocence of love and romantic discovery. I hope that makes sense because, to me, that’s what this book is all about. Jack and Jenna are friends that become so much more but on the road to forever we’re lucky enough to get a great dose of romance and angst with just a sprinkle of sweetness. And, to me, that’s the perfect mix for a friends to lovers story! But wait…there’s more. This story is a bit darker than the ones that come before it. Jack’s past is tainted with some unsavory characters and some dangerous situations. Jack hasn’t always been an innocent bystander in these situations and he has done some things he regrets. He’s a bit rougher around the edges than the other characters in this series both in attitude and appearance. He’s a tattooed bad boy you can’t help but love! Jack is smart and worldly while, at least when it comes to Jenna and his family, he wears his heart on his sleeve. Jenna’s had a lot of disappointment in her life and has watched the women in her family have to struggle to get ahead. She blames those struggles on the fickleness of love and therefore has set a plan for herself that does not include depending on a man in any way. She’s a strong character who thinks she knows what she wants and is willing to do what it takes to get there. Deep down she understands that Jack should be part of her plan but it takes a long time for that information to make it past her heart and into her brain. If I had one small wish, it’s that she would have realized this sooner so I could have had a bit more kissy time in this story…you know that I love love and I need some good kissy times! lolOverall, this was a great read. The characters were wonderful and the storyline, which, by the way, takes us to some seedy places and has us on our toes wondering what will happen next, has enough twists to make this so much more than just a romance novel. Once again, Ms. Fine has shared with us a story that stays with you long after you’ve finished the book. Check out this series, I think you’ll like it!! This book was amazing in my opinion, the best one of the series. I love the banter between Jack and Jenna and love a storyline about being friends first in a relationship. Jack tries his hardest to break down the walls of Jenna's plan to get into her and make her admit that there was something there when they hooked up a year ago. The two of them are from Louisiana and need to make a trip back home, Jenna to see her Grandmother and Jack to help his family. They have so much sexual tension that you could cut it with a knife. They have so many funny adventures that I found myself laughing out loud while reading. I cannot wait to read what you have coming next Chelsea. 5* read from me!
What do You think about Right Kind Of Wrong (2014)?
Least favorite in this series but I liked it, mind you. Is it the last book?
