She was important to Muslims even if she lived more than one thousand years before the rise of Islam—and even if she was a woman. Was Sana’a a major power center? No. But it was symbolically important. That was a good start. Fomenting religious fervor and violence was a major part of the planning. But violence was unpredictable if you wanted to kill people— millions—no billions—of people.
