This is a well-written story. The hook was set early on and it became difficult to put down. Ms. Abel developed her characters, situation and settings well - creating a believable world. She has the ability to grow the urgency and intensity of the situations surrounding the main story in a way that enhances the main plot. She does a wonderful job of leaving breadcrumbs along the trail to keep you guessing and turning the pages. My only complaint is with the ending. The build up was so strong in the last few chapters that I needed some resolution to feel satisfied. If that would have happened, I would have given the book 5 stars. Unfortunately, I was left frustrated. Perhaps this is a marketing ploy to get you to read book two, but I would have been more inclined to buy the next book right away if I was left feeling comfortable with the ending. I think this is the first book I've read that has Mormon's in it that isn't biblical or historical. I guess the author is Mormon from the insight into their background. Even still, the storyline was well done. It went at a steady pace and I found I had to get to the end as quickly as I could to find out what happens. This must be the first book in a series because it definitely ended with a cliff hanger. Well done Charlotte. I will be keeping my eyes open for the rest of the story, and also future works by you.
