Robert Ludlum's(TM) The Ares Decision (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

OMG! The mind-boggling concept and the constant heart-palpitating pace means this reader can only read a few short chapters at a time! I enjoy reading thrillers, but sometimes the thrill at the death of one, or more, of the "bad-guys" becomes overwhelming but not as much as the survival of the "good-ones!" Thank goodness!Sometimes it frightens me to think about humans' capability to inflict evil on other humans and I hope I never live to see something like the parasite of this tale ever become a reality. The short rapid chapters, the traveling around the globe, the hatred of one culture for another, the powerful female protagonists connected to equally powerful males gives me hope that should something like this ever occur that love of all humanity will survive! Not a tale for the faint-hearted! An interesting story with action that goes from America to Africa and Iran. Likeable and well developed characters and villains. A believable story that really does not portray the governments of America, Britain or Iran in a very favorable light but which has elements of truth within it. Its about countries in power who think that they call control all other countries and people and dictate to them and spy on them and dispose of or use them however they choose. It may succeed for a time... But as history proves again and again, this is just an illusion. For there are always consequences for ones actions no matter how powerful one is. The more corrupt a power is, the more certain its eventual demise will be. In the case of this story, some powerful people in Iran are willing to play very dirty in there resistance to American control and influence. In their hostility against the American government, they will do anything within their power to strike back and cause harm. They are not concerned even when some of there own people are harmed and killed in their rush to harm not just the American government but all Americans. A very realistic and frightening story...
