I really liked this book it was recommended to me in a pick for me type challenge. Kaitlyn Reynolds is a year out of college and fighting to become a journalist when she gets the biggest break of her young life, the shot at a cover story in Rolling Stone magazine. She’ll be covering the hottest bad-boy in rock, Derek Kane, whom Kaitlyn met when she was a freshman in college and he was a struggling unknown. It was passionate two-week affair tumultuous, sensual, exhilarating that didn't end well. This was my first reading this author although I have a few of her books on my tbr list. This book read like a prequel that was just too long. The book was a back and forth between thae past that her and Derek had and her present, which I think would have worked better for me if it stayed in the past. This book was well written and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this story as the book ended with them meeting again. There's good news, and bad news. The good - I really liked this book quite a lot. The guy, Derek, is pretty cool. The girl, Kaitlyn tries to do the right thing but is sorely mistaken about what the right thing actually is. And so the story begins. This book goes back and forth, from current to past (although only four years later) in a way that works well; it's not irritating or confusing at all. It had a couple additional characters that really worked too. Now the bad news - when you start the book, it's 702 pages. I though, "cool, this will keep me entertained for a couple of days." However, when you hit page 530, the book ends at a cliff-hanger and the rest of the book is the first part of another series by this author. At first, I wasn't concerned as the end of the book said book two is releasing in January of this year and we're in February. But alas, the author's FB page says she's having some health issues that have delayed book two. (Enter wanting to pull my hair out in frustration but also understanding health issues often show up unexpectantly and patience is appropriate here, argh!!). You might want to wait for the next book or just join the club and read this book now knowing book two is in the works; just knowing what the situation is. But this book is very good and highly enjoyable!
What do You think about Rock Me Hard (2013)?
When will the book 2 be out? I can't read this one before I know the answer!
