I'll admit, I didn't finish this because frankly: Christine Woodward, why are you trying to ruin everything I love about Rogue? Seriously. I can accept that it's supposed to be an updated, re-invited origin story...but a goddamn alien? No. Don't get me wrong, I know all about the Kree and other alien lifeforms in comics, I'm not an idiot. But where's Mystique and Destiny? They're kind of important to the woman that Rogue becomes and can't just be dismissed for some cute alien boy.Waste. of. time. What if you're a girl who can suck the life force right out of whatever you touch? This is the problem of Anna Marie, who's left home because the first time she discovered she could do this was kissing her boyfriend, still in a coma. She's fired from her job, and being stalked by this weird guy who doesn't seem to have a clue what he should do to survive. And then she accidentally touches her ex-boss, putting her in a coma, too. When the weird guy shows up outside her door with a car and offers to take her away, she hops in, and goes for the adventure of her life. Touch is from another planet, one far more advanced than Anna Marie's. It's also much warmer there. Touch has some amazing inventions - one that allows him to understand any language spoke, another that lets him tap into ATM machines. But as they progress through their adventure, Anna Marie comes to a conclusion that both scares her and makes her curious to see Touch's world. There are a few things that might stop her from doing that - namely, Touch's wife. An 'alternate universe' story of Rogue, how she got her name, and why she decided to take up the mantle of a 'good guy'. It's a good popcorn read.

I enjoyed this book. It was not the type of book I normally read. So I was pleasantly surprised.
