A nice follow up to Rose Arbor Inn. I love the story of Jo Marie and all of the guests that come to visit. The more that you learn about Cedar Cove, the more you like the town. After several months, Jo Marie finally finds out the truth about her missing husband, and finally has a successful business under her belt. The newest guests, Kent & Julie Shivers are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, and their granddaughter Annie has planned the entire event. It's interesting how the innkeeper didn't even make it to her first anniversary and this couple made it to fifty. There is also Mary, who gave up true love and family 19 years ago, but has been paying the price ever since. It's a fascinating story about several different people all under the same roof for several days and their lives could not be more different. The fact is life still has to go on, and it always does.Favorite Quotes: "If I'd learned anything in this road called life, it's that it often takes unexpected turns, rerouting us from the very path that had once seemed so right". p 3"Your grandparents are so comfortable with each other that they can say exactly what they feel. I find that so amazing and wonderful". p 142 This was a great follow-up to "The Inn at Rose Harbor". It is always interesting to see what happens both with the people who live in Cedar Cove and with the guests who stay at the inn. I've read all the Cedar Cove books and the Blossom Street books. I always get the Christmas book, too. Debbie Macomber is a little like an American version of Maeve Binchy. She makes you feel like you know the people in her books.
