I finished this book in one night, I could not put it down at all. I started at about 8:22 am and read all the way through every class I was in and after school until 6:21pm where I realized I had finished it and was craving another. The protagonist Benny is a kid who grew up after the zombies came. This one origin makes this book majorly different from the other books I have read. Not only does this book give you a survivor story, it also gives you a chance to reevaluate your opinions on what it means to be human or what it means to consider something a zombie. It definitely ranks among the top books I have ever read. A friend introduced me to this series and I wanna thank him because if he hadn't I would have missed out on this great series. What I really love is that it's not just about zombies; it has other themes such as friendship, family, some romance,etc. As well I fell in love with the characters. The whole Tom situation left me heartbroken until later when he shows up. After I finish a book I'll start on the fourth.
This book was so much more than just zombie fighting action...and I loved every minute of it.
