I was admittedly intrigued by this book, but the more I read the more disapppointed I became. Not only is the speech completely unrealistic - though at least easily readable - I didn't find the main character particularly compelling. Everything in this book seems to just be stated. The author doesn't drop hints and allow the reader to figure things out, or even connect does before revealing things...it's just all told to you. *SPOILERS**reedited review*This is my opinion and will try to articulate as best as I can my reading experience. No fancy in depth analysis on style, grammar, symbolism etc. I'm not doing A level English again! The introductory book to the series.Different take on the young adult genre. Good read but I felt there was something lacking. The plot twist and pace were too quick. The dialogue just seem to abruptly end. I don't care how well adjusted you are, you can't accept the sudden appearance of a mother you thought was dead and a twin sister you didn't know you had, that quickly!"I love this guy - no I fancy this guy - oh it was just the seductiveness of feeding off the first guy? - I really love the second guy."The quickness of it all, sadly, effects this reader's rating. This book may have benefitted from being allowed more in depth dialogue, emotion and development. Some readers may have wanted some more reaction from the heroine on the surprise appearance etc, more background info on things.*Having read the series to the most recent book, I now find myself irritated with the editing of this book series, particularly as this book is a second edition. I'm not an expert on such things but with the amount of errors that reoccur, and the fact that a novice such as myself is getting irritated means you're in trouble.I thought the purpose of new editions was to add to or fix errors. This has not been done as punctuation errors etc remain unchanged.*
What do You think about Royal Blood Chronicles (2009)?
Original with loads of twists and unexpected turns in the plot. A fine vampire read.
