The cover looks awesome and the premise of the story was interesting. But I barely managed to finish reading this. I almost tagged it as DNF. I felt bad since I loved the author's other works especially Dark Trade and I got this for free. This book is in dire need of editing, there were spelling and grammar errors. But my main issue was that the characters were very cliche and predictable. The dialogues felt contrived, it seems like the characters were reading from a script. Anyways, the book has potential hopefully the author finds a good editor. Ahh, that was nice. You don't know the relief of good writing until you've read a few free Nook books. This was short ish but it was shockingly...complete! Time and time you read these free Nook "books" and they have no climax or conclusion and you're left at the end in the middle of a story.Rua was a complete book at the beginning of a series and it was a fun, quick read. What girl doesn't love and want a gay guy best friend? The beginning was very, very cliche but since I'm unfamiliar with Celtic folklore, the rest of this story was original enough (for me) to make up for it. I'm so happy this was decently written. I know this is YA but if it had been a college time book instead of a high school book with a little more depth, it would've been amazing and had five stars instead of my 4+ that I'm giving it. Side note, I hope she tells her parents what is going on because their relationship is too good to mess up with lies. It'd be fun to see them tease her and nice to see them bury themselves in research to learn more about their daughter so they can help her. Well done!
What do You think about Rua (2012)?
Started off kind if slow, but the pace picked up & I really enjoyed this book.
