Directly across the street was the Pioneer Cemetery, which took up about four square blocks and in places was thick with trees. She hoped the dog handler wouldn’t be too late. Her date with Ben Stricklyn, an Internal Affairs detective, was at six and she wanted time to go home and shower first.
