The book is divided into three parts, the past the present and the future. This novel deals with a lot of issues that everyone may not be able to handle. It deals head on with phyiscal, mental, and emotional abuse of both children and adults. The book opens up as we follow Naomi talking to her therapist reliving her early childhood memories. The memories that Naomi shares are really sad. There are many chldren who sadly who were raised just like Naomi. The things that this child had to deal with bought on to her by the hands of her own mother and the things her mother allowed to happen was really crazy. Naomi grew up in a system that she ultimatly winds up working in as she gets older. She deals with children living with abusive parents and tries to find homes for them. You can tell that the author really did her research or that this type of story was very close to home for her. I give the story a 4.5 there was a part or two i thought was dragging so i kind of read it a little faster then the rest of the story. Overall it was a really good read, fast paced and I read it quickly. Again the book does deal with a touchy subject so if you arent one who can stomach reading certain things then you may have to think twice. I saw on some reviews people said edting was horrible... i didnt see that i saw i believe one sentence where a word was missing but nothing major at all. Theres a lot that can be said about the book but I dont want to give anything away. The reader will be suprised at some of the things taking place especially the twist in the story. Overall really good job cant wait to see what else this author will have for her readers. This book was very poorly written. The situations, characters, story, just everything seemed to be written for people with a limited vocabulary and no expectations of being transported into the story. Not only that, and I personally find this offensive, but there were many references to God and church. However, as far as I know, this book is not promoted as Christian literature (or literature at all for that matter).
What do You think about Running From Solace (2011)?
some parts of this book were very tough to read, but the ending made it all worth it.
