Rupture Simon Lelic������������This is not an easy book to read however it is well written and does get you thinking and questioning.Set in a London school during the hottest summer on record this is the story of a school shooting and how the person who pulled the trigger is not the only one to blame.The story is told by the police officer investigating the case and her interviews with those affected by the incident, what starts out as a simple open and shut case (we know who pulled the trigger) becomes much more. While no one else cares about the reasons behind the shooting Lucia is determined to find out.What Lucia finds is institutionalised bullying, police corruption and the power of money to silence.From being a madman who shoots innocent children we learn what has actually been allowed,even sanctioned, within the school and can sympathise with how it could drive someone to kill.Not an enjoyable read but a worthwhile insight into the other side of school shootings. This book is just what I needed to get out of the funk the last book I read had put me into. This story speaks for itself and reads itself, actually. It's all about the terrible consequences bullying carries. We all know them too well, yes? Well, I suggest you read this book so you can sympathize even more. Lucia is an Inspector who is assigned a case in which a teacher suddenly goes bonkers and shoots two children, a colleague and then himself. What follows will make your skin crawl and desperately wish to be able to jump in the book and start whacking some extra people as well. Excellent read!
