Ruthless Game is the ninth book in the Ghostwalker series from author, Christine Feehan. It’s not absolutely necessary to read the previous eight books to follow the story of Ruthless Game, but for a more complete picture I’d suggest reading them. The protagonists in Ruthless Game are Kane Cannon and Rose Patterson. In Street Game, the previous book in the series, Kane was stationed at one of Whitney’s compounds as a guard for some of the girls in the breeding program and was eventually paired up with Rose, later impregnating her. We also learn that he eventually helps Rose and the other girls escape. Ruthless Game opens with Kane’s Ghostwalker team in a desert town attempting to save a couple of hostages, which they were informed about by a source in the town. The source is revealed to be a very pregnant Rose. I found the relationship between Kane and Rose progressed much quicker then the relationships in the other books. Though with everything you find out about the characters in this book I understand why. I just wish the author had drawn it out a little bit more than she did. That being said, I don’t want to reveal too much else from the book. I loved this story so much that I’m a little afraid I may gush and accidentally give away too much. Mr favorite character in this book was Kane. I adored the way he changed when he was around Rose, his character seemed a little softer around her, where as in the other books the men seemed a little bit more rough. This book is definitely my favorite from the series so far. I would suggest this book to anyone that likes romance and paranormal romance. Rose is pregnant and on the run. Kane is on a special team sent to retrieve some hostages. When he realizes Rose is the informant, who he has been looking for for months, he grabs her and start their adventure. A crazy doctor who paired them for the sole purpose of Kane impregnating her wants to get his hands on Rose & the baby. And a drug cartel will stop at nothing to get Rose and her baby. The doctor thinks he has made a super soldier. So he wants them alive.The reason I gave only 4 stars was because of the dialogue. One paragraph would be Rose, the next Kane it was confusing for me. Other than that I really enjoyed this sexy, paranormal story.
