Safeword: Rainbow (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

This book was overall good but…The dialogue got to me. It seemed so technically right that I wondered if people really talked that. I figure there should have been at least a few abbreviations to some words or something to give them more of their own personalities. I liked the development of the book but at times it seemed rushed. I think that the author could have fleshed out the building of the relationship more. But it was very good for a short and a great beginning to a series. I can't wait to read more from this series and author. So with that I give this book 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this book as it gave me a better insight into the lifestyle of BDSM, particularly the relationship between a M/s couple (24/7 power-exchange). Although is was a short book for me, Candace Blevins leaves nothing to the imagination. She includes many scene times and great descriptions of what's going on so you can really feel like you are there with the couple. I feel this book represented the lifestyle very well. The main character is a true sadist and gets his jollies off by watching his slave cry, beg, scream and plead through her pain to please him. It was very interesting reading the different ways to torture/play with another partner.

Great book. Not as "hard" to read as I thought it would be.
