This novel is the third in the Detective John Spicer series. It is a good, solid, British police procedural with a tight plot and interesting characters.Some books stick in th ememory because of what you learn reading them. This novel is one such book. The plot hinges round revelations about the British in Kenya and the truth about the Mau-Mau. The information certainly differed from what I read in the newspapers in the U.K. at the time! I'm glad I learnt the realities of Kenyan life back then and grateful to the author for writing his plot around this.A good well written thriller and a must read for those who like British police procedurals.
