In a nutshell, the author had WAY too much going on, to the point that it was completely unbelievable and rather annoying. I really didn't like Garrett and his guilt over enjoying BDSM was exhausting. I didn't believe that Sage could be held captive for a year and not come out of it without some scars. They never actually TALK and communicate, which is the success of a healthy, fun D/s dynamic. In addition emotional dysfunction, the author then adds the layer of an additional kidnapping and a public bonding between the two main characters. Honestly, I scanned the last 50 pages because it was just too tedious to read word for word. 3.5 Stars Okay, this is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Payne and will probably not be the last. Now there were things I really like about the book and things that had me scratching my head. I am going to keep this pretty vague so I don’t give anything away.A little over a year ago Garrett’s fiancee, Sage is kidnapped and then murdered or so he thinks. Now on a rescue mission he discovers she’s alive and let the story begin. There are a lot of BDSM moments in this book, which I love, but some worked and some didn’t.I just had a hard time connecting with the characters at times.I guess if I went through a traumatic experience I’d be a little bit more damaged than our heroine was. Not saying there is anything wrong with being a strong person but I expected to see a little more drama dealing with that. Anyway I definitely will check out the next book, I liked this one it just wasn’t one of my favorites.for more reviews visit welovekink(dot)comreviewed by Rachel
What do You think about Saved By His Submissive (2013)?
Good book - will definitely read others in series - especially zeke and rayna's story.
