The cell phone at her hip jangled with the light spunky melody indicating it was Jude’s daughter calling. Her fists clenched against the window ledge. She wasn’t sure she could deal with Deborah’s mischievous ways at the moment, but if she didn’t answer, the little imp would call her father and demand to know why her favorite not-mom wasn’t answering her phone. Freeing the phone from its case, she put it up to her ear.
