This manga is a smut.A clear smut. It's not a full of romance one(which i like) and the characters are just a little too weird and stupid for me.The mangaka tries to show us true love and feelings but she does it through too weird characters.Yamato(male protagonist)is popoular and handsome though he has a pretty weird past which made me not like him at all.Mei(female protagonist)is so dynamic in the beginning but then she becomes so weak and insecure that it gets annoying. The story is good for a Smut but the characters are just not enough. Say "I Love You" (the English translation) is a beautiful, heart-warming manga series. It exhibits the true essence of adolescent love and relationships, without sugar-coating everything with stomach-wrenching adorable traits. The author gives you an unhindered look into what being a teenager in Japan is like (which isn't too far off from how teens work here in the US). We get a glimpse into young teenage girls and their battle with body image. We get to see how sexual relationships take form in the younger generation. We also get to experience the affects that bullying has on young adults. My favorite aspect is the illustration of blossoming love between a boy and a girl, along with all of the insecurities and emotions that go with it. It's quite simply extraordinarily done.Say "I Love You" is an elegant work of art, literally and literarily. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite manga series' to date.
I adored this one! It was so cute. Totally looking forward to the rest of the series
