Great cozy read from Kaitlyn 'Dunnett' - I'm sure that pun is intended !Protagonist, Liss, very real and very likeable. One fall in a performance with her Scottish Strathspey dance troupe prematurely ended her career, but not her interest in her dance family. Having arranged a tour stop in her Maine hometown, she anticipates nothing but reunion. But someone else has a different outcome in mind... Multiple red herrings throughout the read, quirky character traits, and romantic triangles kept this reader both reading and guessing. Definitely enjoyable hours spent with the content reaching a satisfying conclusion! Addition to the Scotland Reading CHallenge 2013 list. Liss is relatively new in her old home town. She is helping her aunt run her business and added new fangled things like websites and online shopping. With mixed feelings she has coordinated a special program at the local college -- her old dance troupe. She is excited about seeing old friends and colleagues but it is bittersweet at times for she wants to be back and performing with them even though life on the road is hard and the work grueling on the body. Her old dance manager dies unexpectedly at the reception after the performance and everyone is willing to accept it as an allergic reaction until Liss' friend and newly trained police officer Sherri finds his allergy medicine in a trash bin and not in his pocket where he always keeps it.So then the police want the troupe to stay in town until the whole case is solved and programs are cancelled and they ask Liss if she would want to come back as a manager, much to Dan's chagrin. This book is packed with crime from fraud to harassment to murder. It is a book that keeps you busy and learn more about small town life in rural Maine and the life of traveling artists. It is a good read.
What do You think about Scone Cold Dead (2008)?
A mushroom allergy proves deadly for Liss's old dancing troupe manager.
