Scotland Street - Sinnliches Versprechen (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
I'm very disappointed. I had high expectations for this book because although i didn't like that much Fall from India Place, i really love this series. But if that was bad, this one was way worse. The book starts with insta-lust, and then there's the typical drama and the corny phrases. And I can forgive this if the characters weren't so lame and stupid, seriously Samantha what happened with my female characters who take no shit from men, what happened with the girls who even though they were emotional and sentimental they stand up for herself? I wanted to scream to Shannon "have some pride, for the love of god".And then there's Cole, my biggest disappoint. I loved this guy in the others books, but in this one he showed how insecure he really is. And dramatic, and whiny. I mean i know he had a tough life but c'mon. The only reason i keep reading was because i like parts where the old characters were present because to be honest none of the new characters were remarkable, maybe Logan and he's the only reason i might give Samantha another opportunity. She makes me want to write, Samantha Young. I want to be able to write books that move, inspire, and delight people just as her books have to me, and I've never even given writing professionally a real thought. This was an absolutely beautiful books with lovely characters that have surpassed their struggles to create something amazing. My suggestion: start with On Dublin Street and go in chronological order. You won't regret it.
