Search Inside Yourself: The Unexpected Path To Achieving Success, Happiness (And World Peace) (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
So the Dalai Lama goes into a pizza shop and the guy behind the counter asks him what he wants and he says:"Make me one with everytyhing.....".Written by Chade-Meng Tan, an early engineer at Google, he now holds the official title of Google's "Jolly Good Fellow" where he teaches Googlers the finer points of mindfulness, inner peace and meditation.Recommended reading for anyone considering starting or ramping up their meditation practice and how it can contribute to happiness and success in their career. The big plus of this book is that Meng manages to combine the essence of mindfulness practice, emotional intelligence, happiness psychology, self-assessment techniques, and Zen Buddhism into one harmonic and very practicable guide to medidation. And all that without being esoteric, dull, or too scientific. Even though it covers a rather large range of wisdom techniques and related topics, it is written very clearly, to the point, and in an enjoyable way. Since I read Meng, I have read several other books on mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and Zen, but I still think that for someone without prior experience with the topic, this book is the ideal starting point.
