I have mixed feelings...I Love the story, it's beautiful!Losing a baby is hard, very hard and it's easy to get lost in the pain and not think about anything but yourself...So the breakup was very realistic to me, i believed in the pain they both suffered... And i did love the ending very much...I didn't like that they were cheating and neither of them seemed to care...Ok, he lost his memory and can't remember his fiancée but just cause you can't remember her doesn't mean that you can choose to live as if she doesn't matter! Your engaged! You don't feel engaged or don't want to be engaged? Then break up with her!!!!!!!!!And Lil?? She doesn't give a f***! “This man who knew her, not Chloe, and damnit, she was going to enjoy him while she had him.”That's not ok!!! I do read books with cheating in it but i only "condone" it, if the cheater knows that he- she is doing smth wrong and he- she regret it...Even if she-he is the love of your live and you're meant to be together you can be together without hurting others in the process!!Ok the OW was selfish by leaving the hero to recover alone & she's stupid for not stopping the wedding arrangements oh and tgat stund with the invitation... NOT OK !But i can honestly say that I don't think that she's evil!!!!The punishment was to hard! She gets cheated on and humiliated on her Wedding day... Not ok!!!He had a whole week to break up with her to end the engagement, but NO! He waits until she's in her wedding dress getting ready for church to break up with her! He leaves her to deal with the guests and everything else! That's cruel! Otherwise it was a beautiful love story!Their friends were awesome!!!!!!!!! This was a cute read about two people finding their way back to each other that definitely had me in tears throughout many points in the story.I kind of wished I didn't read the summary of the book before reading it because I felt that I may have spoiled the plot for me from the beginning. I would've wanted the first couple of chapters to remain mysterious to me & leave me wondering what happened and who were the two people in the prologue. Also, it would've been nice to see the first interaction between Chloe and Sam in the hospital room since that was a point outlined in the summary."Beam me up, bitches" made me laugh out loud.I liked how the ending turned out. I'm glad that he didn't take the route that the readers expect him to do; that provided a less of a clichéed ending, which I liked.
What do You think about Second Rate Chances (2000)?
I enjoyed the story and the characters but I really wish there had been a epilogue. :(
