Three short stories about people intertwined by family and friendship. Seducing Ian begins with the beautiful Leanna Arlington being kidnapped in retribution for Laird Ian McCray's uncle being arrested on false charges. Things happen very quickly when Leanna offers herself freely to the handsome Laird. Do they both succumb to their feeling or do they keep it impersonal? In Seducing Robbie, Ian's cousin, Robert McCray is approached by Julia Cameron with a proposition he can't pass up. Julia is certain sh can maintain her distance from the roguish Robbie, but it proves difficult.Adain Cameron, Julia's ex-betrothed in Robbie's story, saves the Lady Gillian Lorin from certain harm. She was on her way to be sold off to the Earl of Kleiss, a cruel old man, when the coach is attacked and Gillian almost raped. Adain saves her and takes her to his home.I genuinely enjoyed this book. The stories were just the right length and I wasn't left with a wanting. Sure I would love to see what happens later on in these families lives, but I'm satisfied with the endings. This was my first Emma Wildes and I definitely will read more!~KIMBERLY~ This book is actually three interrelated novellas.The first story is Seducing Ian. Its about a Scottish Laird who kidnaps an English woman who is the betrothed of his current enemy. He's done this in the hopes of getting said enemy to come to him so he can kill him, for imprisoning his uncle and attempting to put him to death for a crime he didn't commit. Ian just didn't count on the woman he kidnapped to be grateful he took her! I enjoyed this story quite a bit.The second story is Seducing Robbie. Robbie is the cousin of Ian in the previous story. He agrees to marry the daughter of his father's oldest friend, who has been murdered. Julia believes her betrothed killed her father in an attempt to gain control of he clan. She believe marrying Robbie will protect her and also that Robbie will help her to find out if her former fiance is indeed the killer, because deep down she just can't believe he would be so craven. I loved the character of Robbie but this story wasn't quite as good.The final story is called Seducing Adain, and was my favorite, although I didn't foresee it after reading the second story. (Adain is the former fiance in Seducing Robbie.) Adain comes upon a woman being accosted on the road at night. Her coachman and her uncle both have died. She asks Aiden to take her to her betrothed's home, which is where they were headed when attacked. When Adain finds out that her betrothed is perhaps the cruelest man in Scotland, he refuses and takes her home with him until he can find her a safe haven. I enjoyed this story immensely. I wish it had been a separate full length book on its own.4 stars because I think each story was a little rushed in an effort to fit them all in one book.
