This evening we can make plans for other outings.” Pelicans and Horse Guards satisfied the twins as a first effort, even though the adventure took little over an hour. Once home again, they planned longer adventures. Perry still hadn’t come. Claris allowed her brothers to teach her a new card game, and she was too absorbed by it to hear noises, so his entry into the drawing room startled her.
