Two and a half stars. Rounded up to three because it was a free download from Amazon and, I think, self published. The first half of this easy, feel good read is definitely the better half. As ever with layman edited MM, once the smexin' started, the plot and characterization went to shit. That being said, for a free read, I enjoyed the first half greatly. Before the characterization hit the fan, Sam was lovely, and I just wanted to squeeze him.As a free read, thoroughly recommended. It began good, and then it all changed.I don't like Devin, everyone was too easy on him, but I do agree with him that he doesn't deserve Sam and I'm not even talking about his past behavior, I'm just taking in consideration the way he treats Sam when the story begins, He wants to have Sam and Mike's support but he doesn't want to give anything back, He doesn't want to step up his game, too much work for him I think. But then Sammy began acting like a little slut and my respect for him fell to the floor, one thing is acting brave and strong and make obvious for Devin that he wants him, and another entirely different thing is to throw himself at Devin's feet, the change of personality from the first part to the second was startling, it felt almost like two different characters.More, when they are trying to talk Sam flirts and touch instead of listening to Devin, and Devin doesn't really say exactly what he's feeling, so free drama.
