Sensible Shoes: A Story About The Spiritual Journey (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
My heart is saddened about this book. It is filled with New Age practises. If you are a true believer in Jesus Christ and in the word of God, do NOT bother with this book. It includes labyrinths,lectio devino, praying the examen, wilderness prayer, self-examination and confession, rule of life. These are not Biblical practises, but man-made practises. Please be discerning! There are many, many other great books out there that you can enjoy. This book is a spiritual journey for the characters and for yourself if you let it.It tells the story of four women from different backgrounds and places in life that go to a spiritual retreat on Saturday mornings. Not only is this christian fiction but there are stops in the book for you to journey with them with exercises. You can easily find yourself in one or more of the characters, and often hit too close to home at times for me.I will be getting my own copy to reread and highlight my own notes and favorite parts in it.
