“It’s not even 8 o’clock.” “So?” Chris said, pulling away from the curb. “So I’m not enlisted anymore. You can’t possibly expect me to be functional before breakfast.” Chris smiled and shook his head. “Easy, Easy, Easy.” Jimmy eyed him suspiciously. “What are you so happy about?” “Nothing.” “Mmm hmmm. Look just because you woke up for a morning quickie doesn’t mean-” “Did not. Had errands to run.” “And that’s why you’re so goddamn chipper? Because you ran errands?” Chris pulled up to the stop sign at the corner and looked at Jimmy. He grinned. “Sarah.” Jimmy’s eyebrows knitted together. “Who the hell is Sarah?” Chris shot him a look and he said, “Oh. Non-functional before breakfast, remember?” He took a bite of bagel and chewed it. When he swallowed he said, “Pretty name. Guess she’s over the tramp stamp.” Chris’s face darkened. “God. Don’t even mention it. I had no idea that woman was so damn crazy.”
