Sh*tty Mum: The Guide For Good-Enough Mums (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
Okay so this is one of those books you're not suppose to love, because of course you don't do the things in the book, but because we have all had our sh*tty mom days/years/episodes, this book is full of plenty of laugh out loud moments. So, if you'd like a parenting book that's real and full of plenty of wisdom that you're not really suppose to use (but do anyway), this is the book for you. Just don't read it somewhere you're suppose to be quiet, because you'll be that annoying person trying to stiffle your laughter page after page. This book was funny, and not for everyone. The first page has the following line "How could it be that, hours from now, a smart cookie such as yourself will be changing your baby's diaper in a truck-stop bathroom usually reserved for $20 hand jobs?" Yup, it is that type of book. I couldn't relate to all of it, but all of it was pretty amusing. I liked the chapter 7 "It's Come to Your Attention That Your Kid Is Merely Average". Should be required reading for all parents who come to the library ;-) Also, the heading, "Is Your Child 'Slow' or Is He a Boy?" cracks me up.
