4.5 Star reviewWhen starting this story, I didn't know where it was going. After finishing it, well I couldn't have guessed where it was leading....And I LOVE stories like this. I couldn't put it down. Current day-Parrish Locke a successful 27 y/o model in "god-forsaken" West Virginia on a shoot for a Ski-Wear company. Days behind schedule and just told of the shoot is done for the day. Parrish decides to head out with promise she will be back the next morning bright & early. Fate had other plans for Parrish.Feeling restless in her hotel room, Parrish heads out to a club that she heard about. The girls mentioned something about fantastic home brew & the best deep-fried fish. "Hell that was good enough for the home girl"On her way, a weather front started coming in and between the weather, twisty roads and attempting to reach for her ringing cell phone, well........you can imagine what happens. Waking up surprised she is not dead, she sees a young woman standing all alone in a cemetery. What the......Karlie Lynn Materson whispers to Parrish, "Let Dominic know". As you might think, Parrish is confused & Karlie is on a mission. Karlie decides to take over. Parris slips into a strange abyss, that when she comes out of it, she would be someplace else....be somewhere else.....and it would no longer her life anymore. Circa 1986-Karlie is working at Mountain Belle's Lodge, a whorehouse if you will. This is Karlie & Dominic "Nick" Castellano's story. It involves revenge, The Mob, murder, love, infidelity & strong family bond, Again, I loved this story and was very impressed on how the author wrote it so seamlessly. I will definitely be picking up the 2nd in this series. How is this a series, and involve Parrish, well you will have to read it to find out. And lastly, it has a great 80's playlist. I could hear everyone playing silently in my head while reading!!!!!! I am not a huge fan of the use of profanity for no reason in a book. However the story line roped me in and kept me reading. I loved how the story switched gears at the very beggining switching from the daughters to the mothers point of views. it helped bring the whole story together perfectly. this is a paranormal book, but not in the usual sense and i think thats part of what i liked most about this book. if you are looking for a beautiful, indepth, love story. this is the book for you
