This one was a little different from the shifter stories. And I really liked it for that reason. A wolf that can't shift, and a wolf/cougar who gets sick with a virus must team up to stop this man from getting sick, and the rest of the shifter community. But it won't be easy considering that neither are accepted in the shifter community. I'll admit, I really wanted there wolves to bound, even if her's never came out. I really loved this book and this series so far. Chase is a Metis shifter, with 2 different forms. He is also a defacto alpha for a clan of misfit group of mix species shifters that live out in the bush. All of these shifters look to him for leadership, whether he wants it or not.Shelley is a wolf who can't shift at all. She was raised with a sister who is a full human, who is currently sleeping with the Takhini pack alpha. Shelley went to vet school to learn as much as she could so that she could help the shifters back home. It was her way to feel useful. This is a great series with humor, sexiness and lots of great shifters. I'm so glad that I stumbled across a review for this series on RabidReads. I highly recommend this series if you like shifters.

Slow start. Was going to be a two-star, but then it picked up in the second half.
