I recently gave my 86 year old Mom a Kindle as a surprise. When she saw "Almost Heaven" she asked me how I knew she had been wanting to read it. Of course I didn't know but it piqued my interest. She is a great book with great characters who battle good and evil and the Angel who watches over the main character. Some of the battles were familiar battles and I am sure that anyone who reads this will associate with their own struggles. Though I had trouble getting started with this book, I am glad I stuck with it. A good story with lots of truth. Those truths, and this story will stick with me. This one goes on my list of inspirational books to read again. "In this case, God did not choose the most wise or powerful or wealthy. ... He chose the powerless and despised, a person counted as nothing, and used him again and again."
I just finished this and liked it, but I have to sort my thoughts out a bit before I do a review.
