The man got out of the car, nodded at Scott and said, “See you at home, boss.” “How many of those guys do you have?” she asked, a little baffled by the whole mysterious persona surrounding the men. “You really don’t want to know,” Scott answered. His tone held an edge of sadness and it seemed to Cammie as if he wasn’t exactly thrilled by that fact. He helped her into the car, slid into the driver’s side and left the parking lot. They were on the freeway before either of them spoke. “I’m curious.” Scott broke the silence first. “What do you like to eat?” “I like everything but raw onions,” she stated honestly. “I don’t like the odor they leave on the breath.” “I like the way you think. I don’t like raw onions either.” “Where are we going?” Cammie asked. “The only place where I can keep you away from prying eyes.” When he didn’t elaborate, she leaned back into the seat and didn’t question. Even though the anticipation had her on edge, she tried to relax, considering this was the first time she’d ever ridden—or sat—in a Jaguar.
