Now don't get me wrong I like a dark read, but to me this just seemed to be a "how to become a battered wife" ended up really disliking the antihero and feeling really sorry for the heroine who although she was young and naive figured out at about 80% she ought to leave! but didn't! Not that she could, his justification for the violence and the fact that she was required to just say yes sir to everything, well, say no more. I kept waiting for him to realise how wrong it was to hit, brutalise and subjugate her but nope, that did not happen.it was really well written, otherwise I wouldn't have disliked the antihero so much, or even finished the book, but it left me feeling frustrated and out of sorts. Honestly this book was not for me. I hated how Sebastian treated Taylor and I also hated how she didn't want to leave him. I can kind of understand his job is why he is the way he is but there is a line of physical abuse that I do not cross. I kept thinking "Maybe she doesn't know any better," but who knows. And also the sex scenes did not do anything for me. It seemed like they would be almost painful.
