Sitting At The Feet Of Rabbi Jesus: How The Jewishness Of Jesus Can Transform Your Faith (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

So much insight gleaned on what being a christ follower really means. "God's goal isn't simply to fill the world with people who believe the right things. It is to fill the world with people who shine with the brilliance of Christ." "We are not an antiquarian studying history so much as a man engaged in a living discussion with an older, wiser relative." Old testament characters and christ, its not just a story, its our heritage. Some interesting information here, but not what I was anticipating. Liked the discussion of a meal as peace-making--what an illuminating statement on communion! But I felt the authors mischaracterized Jesus' criticism of the Pharisees, going far too easy on them. My subsequent suspicion of their assertions made the rest of the book less enjoyable. The appendices with Jewish prayers, blessings and feasts is interesting and well done.

Loved it--gave me a much richer view of the Rabbi that Jesus was and still can be for us today.
