Good book! Zeke was abducted and experimented on but escapes and comes home trying to figure out how to live with the changes. He meets up with Neve when he needs a job but she doesn't remember him. They find out someone is trying to get at her family and Zeke won't let that happen. Such a good romantic story. I love it when a woman can see beyond supposed problems and see the man beneath. I would definitely recommend this book. 4-1/2 starsI really enjoyed this book. The hero was very different. He had been damaged as a result of being captured and experimented on and was not normal and the author didn't suddenly make him normal by the end. I really enjoyed that and how his "voice" stayed consistent throughout the story. The relationship between him and the heroine was the main thrust of the story. He was a beta hero who had loved the heroine from afar for years and spent a lot of the book thinking he wasn't good enough for her especially now that the experiments had made him very strange by adding abilities (animal like hearing and ability to understand animal thoughts) and taking away others like the ability to read and drive. I really enjoy reading about a different character not just your normal alpha guy. She wasn't as well developed but she was nice and I liked her. The serial killer wasn't as well developed as he could have been and sometimes I would have wished for a bit more clarity there. Very nice angsty story all around and I will read the rest of the series.
Reasonably well-written for a romance, but it didn't really resonate with me.
