I really enjoyed this, however, I gave it 3 stars instead of 4 for a couple of things that annoyed me. First, I really get annoyed with a book when everyone the character meets, fancies her. I mean really - no one, absolutely no one - is that appealing. As the saying goes "someone, somewhere, is sick of putting up with her shit". There would be plenty of people that find her attitude undesirable, and her hair a turn off. Not to mention, some people just wouldn't find her attractive.Secondly, there was too much detail in section of the book that get boring, and you skim it. To keep up a good pace in a good mystery, this sort of thing really side tracks me. You get the type of work, you get the atmosphere, an evironment is generated, and the extra detail becomes a distraction.I'm definitely going to carry on to the next novel: I liked most of the characters, and the strength of a lot of the women in the novel. I also particularly liked the cat-girl. A fun character that displayed the many moods and disdainful outlook of teens in general. If you really, really, really like tattoos you might like this book.I could tell a man wrote it as opposed to a woman. It wasn't that bad, but it did take me a very long time to get into it. And it fell into the classic trope of every male (and female) being attracted to the main character. The relationship with Wolf for example felt very forced.I think I will give the next book a chance. As I was listening, I thought the narrator sounded rather familiar, turns out it was the same narrator I listened to literally the day before, with Haunted on Bourbon Street. - I still don't like the way she narrates men, but at least she didn't vocally age the main character like the last time, it must have been the way she was written?
What do You think about Skindancer: Magisches Tattoo (2011)?
Awesome story if you don't mind the gory theme
