For a book called "Sliding Home," there wasn't much of that in baseball terms or in other euphemisms. The author spent more time telling us things than showing us things. Since there weren't a lot of steamy scenes I had hoped she would make up for it with baseball, but there weren't many of those scenes either. The characters didn't really have any depth and fell flat. Oh, and the names, let's just take a moment to consider the ridiculousness of the names because really, calling the pitcher Brek Stryker? Really, trying WAY too hard.Glad I read it, but there are better romance novels out there, and better baseball themed ones. This book strikes out! (ha, see what I did there?) Favorite I guess. This one had more punch lines than the others.Kason is that angsty guy on the team. I thought he'd keep his identity a secret from the girl for most of the story, which would be really boring and predictable. But thank god he didn't. And thank god she didn't mull over it and had it hanging over their heads for most of the story. Kason was cute most times. But he still had that brooding attitude.Meanwhile, the other story, gosh I forgot their names, was cute. There wasn't any conflict between the two characters. It was more like a storytelling of an adorable courtship. Which was a good change from the other stories. Which the girl (forgot her name), Kason's girl had an encounter with her ex and make it like an "in your face" kind of encounter.
What do You think about Sliding Home (2009)?
Another great story from Kate Angell. Great character development!

Enjoyed the main romance but felt the secondary one was too fast.
