The author spent too much time with the past story and too much time establishing Trevor's character. There's a lot of unnecessary dialogue. I am skimming through it which is unfortunate because I really wanted to like this story. It's a great topic and tender story, but the writing is lacking.It's heart breaking to read stories when the timing is not right for two people who love each cannot be together because of the circumstances in life. I'm having a hard time liking Kaitlyn. She is too needy. These men that come into her life gets so easily consumed by her and yet she ends up destroying lives. The forbidden love. It's an interesting concept. I've never actually met anyone who has experienced this in life. Not sure I enjoy reading about people who have a deeply connected love for one another but cannot be together. Most of the time people do not experience love like this at all and yet Kaitlyn has had three men feel the kind of love for her. I'm not buying it.Love is about sacrifices and Chris has suffered the most. Chris loved Kaitlyn enough to let her go and he walked away from his responsibility to keep peace in her happy family life that she chose to keep. I really couldn't get into this book. Kaitlyn frustrated me as a character, her actions seem odd at points (trying not to add spoilers.) Chris had potential but there wasn't enough of him and the ending was a little abrupt.Kaitlyn has it all, a cheerleader with a hot boyfriend but all is not as it seems. A new kid at school sees something in Kaitlyn's relationship and offers her friendship without worrying about rammifications on both their lives.
Reading this is just so much until it hurts.Unbelievable ending ;;;
