This book was right up my alley - lots of wonderful writing about this book I love so much, as well as a wealth of information I didn't know about Fitzgerald, his life, the circumstances of writing this book, and its history over the years after his death. Maureen Corrigan has a wonderful voice -- I've loved her review on 'Fresh Air' for years -- and I love reading a substantive book that is so readable and fun. The bonus for me is that now I have a lot of wonderful new stories to share with my students when we read Gatsby! I'm a longtime fan of Maureen Corrigan's book reviews on Fresh Air and was excited to learn she had a book out. And what a delightful book it is. It is an ode to a novel I recently reread, yet am now already wanting to read again. I loved all the biographical information about F. Scott Fitzgerald and found the history of THE GREAT GATSBY fascinating. A great reminder about the value in (re)reading classics in general and THE GREAT GATSBY in particular.
LOVED it! What a sweet tribute to one of the greatest novels of all time.
