Sock Yarn One-Skein Wonders: 101 Patterns That Go Way Beyond Socks! (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

This is my favorite pattern book in the series. I have lots of leftover and stash sock yarn in the closet and this is filed with 101 ideas. There are hats, caps, mitts , gloves, cuffs and socks, scarves, neck-warmers, shawls, shrugs, kids clothes, doll clothes, bags, purses and some home items (tea cosy, lamp shade, ornaments, etc).Very cute weekend style knits which can easily fit inside a small sack to carry around with you for those moments when you have to wait in line (forever!) like went I was waiting to pay for my registration or for my turn at the post office which does get a few weird looks from the other people in line, but at least I'm doing something productive while waiting.Tons of idea in 287 pages and square squat format which looks short next to my other larger format knitting pattern books.3 stars Sock yarn is my crack and I have hoards of it so when I saw this book I HAD to have it! I've looked through and like the others in this series the instructions are great, but what's even better is that the patterns are with the pictures!!! I didn't quite like the layout of the other books with the photos at the beginning and then the patterns later. It works in a magazine because they are thin, but it a book I like the the picture to be right there. Kind of like a cook book. You want the photos with the recipe.November:I'm going to have to ammend my review simply because I have discovered 3 patterns so far that have mistakes. Seriously? Makes it very difficult to make things when you get to a certain point then you see the mistake in the work and then have to figure out what it's actually supposed to be and then rip out several hours of work and redo it. I've come to expect poor editing in my fiction, but when it comes to a book like this I have much higher expectations.

What do You think about Sock Yarn One-Skein Wonders: 101 Patterns That Go Way Beyond Socks! (2010)?

Beautiful and pretty things, all of which I want to make. No interest in the socks, of course.
