Did I say that out loud? He glanced across the table at long blond hair pulled back with combs at the top of her head. Her hair had been lighter when they were younger; now it was a smidge darker with a hint of red in it. But those pale blue eyes sparkled at him over the top of her sandwich. Had there ever been a more beautiful girl? He sighed. She deserved better than a man who knew very little about women, just enough to stomp all over their feet.
