Something Blue (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Despite it being a murder mystery, this was somewhat frothy, with the groom and bride to be investigating the murder of a prominent citizen. It takes place in England where the 60 year old Lord Hetheridge, never married but the father of a recently announced daughter, is marrying a 31 year old woman who is his social inferior--as many like to point out. I am unfamiliar with Emma Jameson, though I see that she is a Goodreads author, and doubt that I shall seek out any other of her books. I was given this book by Emma Jameson just because she is a great person!I would give this installment 4.5 stars if I could.I have to say as much as I love the main characters in these books, I hated the people that were introduced but then I am supposed to; thankfully most of them do not have a happy ending. One of my favorite things about the book was originally one that confused me the most. I know that Kate is a cop and not interested in the froofy part of life but I couldn’t understand why she didn’t want anything to do with the wedding planning. But the twist there? Yes, loved it!This time Tony, Kate, and Paul are put in a lot of bad situations and the horrible Superintendent Jackson is brought back in a larger way. I do hope that he gets his soon. The mixture of mystery, menace, and humor in these books will keep me coming back for more.
