Songs Of Love And Death: All-Original Tales Of Star-Crossed Love (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I can't speak for those who already love the romance genre and its authors. But if that's not you, this collection might not be the best introduction. The majority of the stories didn't have strong and interesting characters that stood on their own merits to the degree that I felt any real concern for what was going to happen to them and often there wasn't much build up of chemistry between characters. I wasn't blown away by any of the stories, but I enjoyed "After the Blood" by Marjorie M. Liu (possibly because the plot carried the romance instead of vice versa) and "You, and You Alone" by Jacqueline Carey (the only story I found at all sexy). A few other stories had good aspects but felt like throw-aways. Robin Hobb's "Blue Boots" was engaging 75% of the way and then was like - oops, gotta wrap this up now, alright-happily-ever-after-the-end. "The Marrying Maid" by Jo Beverly and "His Wolf" by Lisa Tuttle were both godawful, IMO. I know someone who's been married and divorced four times, three of those times to drug addicts/dealers, and "His Wolf" reminded me of exactly the thought process that lets that happen. I wanted to yell - what's wrong with you, RUN! the whole time I was reading it. Recueil de nouvelles.Mes préférées :The Marrying Maid de Jo Beverley pour son côté Liaisons Dangereuses et mes souvenirs de Songe d'une Nuit d'été de Shakespeare. Hurt me, M.L.N HanoverBlue Boots, Robin Hobb, évidemment. The Thing about Cassandra de Neil Gaiman, de toute évidence! After the Blood, Marjorie M. LiuHis Wolf, Lisa TurtleThe Demon Dancer, Mary Jo PutneyMan in the Mirror, Yasmine GalenornLes autres ont freiné ma lecture de ce recueil (même en en zappant 4)
What do You think about Songs Of Love And Death: All-Original Tales Of Star-Crossed Love (2010)?
Full disclosure, I only read the Neil Gaiman short story so this rating is based only on that.

Great collection. There wasn't a single story I didn't love.
